Lily's Day Planner

Ever since I started making my new day planners Lily has been begging me for one of them. I kept telling her no until a light switch went on in my head and I realized that I could custom make one just for her.  I made her a morning chart, and a bedtime chart and I laminated them so that she could use her wet erase marker to cross off items as she goes. She has been so excited about it, I think mostly because she just LOVES to be like me :) It's so cute. Now she feels all grown up getting to use a planner just like mommy.

Here is what her morning routine consists of.
*Eat breakfast
*Make bed
*Get dressed
*Brush teeth and brush hair
*Exercise and read ( I just recently added the exercise part to her chart and she is really enjoying it. I tell her to do things like, 20 jumping jacks, run around the couch 10 times, push ups, sit ups, ect. She sometimes even does Yoga, or the Insanity work out when I'm doing it. I think the exercise part is her favorite. She gets all excited about it, and when I tell her she's done she says she wants to do more.)
*Play or school
*Clean up toys

Then her night time chart looks like this.
*Eat dinner (she gets to cross it off only if she eats it all)
*Bath time
*Jammies and have a snack
*Brush teeth
*Read and do school books with mom then bedtime

At the end of the week if she gets all her boxes marked off she gets to choose from the bag of wrapped dollar toys I got for her.

Squatting Toilets

Yes, these do exist, and yes, I'm being serious...
Sort of...
Sorry for the visual here, but seriously, this is factual information. The other night Sean was researching these and I was about to die at the thought of him actually getting one put in our house. If you know my husband then you know he is MR. Health Nut. Always finding the newest natural remedies to preventing disease and preserving his health hence the reason we do Isagenix. I love that about him,  for the most part, but sometimes it can be a little extreme.

"Squat toilets are thought to be safer than seated versions. Many believe that sitting on a toilet can lead to bladder, prostate or uterine nerve damage. When this damage occurs, the organ(s) become more prone to disease. This may lead to colon cancer, constipation, IBS, diverticulitis and other prostate or uterine diseases.
Also, using the restroom in a seated position may lead to hemorrhoids. A squatting toilet prevents this from happening. In addition, many suggest that when you sit during a bowel movement, all fecal material is not removed from your body. Any that is left over may stagnate and lead to diseases, such as those listed above."

I thought this cartoon was hilarious!!! What a nice visual of the difference a squatting toilet makes right.

Who knows, next time you come over to my house you might just find one of these.

Fun And Balanced Friday~ Valentines Craft

I know that Fun And Balanced Friday has been kind of in hiding these past few weeks, but I intend on getting back in the swing of things. When I created my new Day Planners I was kind of preoccupied with that, then I was trying to figure out how I was going to go about the whole thing. As you've noticed I'm not posting the meal plans anymore on here. I'm still making them, just now offering them with the planners instead. So what I think I'm going to do now is feature certain recipes, and craft and activities for kids each week. Also I'll be back to featuring people who inspire me and posting those here and there too.

This week I wanted to show you a fun activity Lily and I did together to begin the Valentines festivities. I got the idea out of the wonderful Family Fun magazine.

Paper Plate Hearts

  • Two paper plates
  • construction paper

Master Bedroom Pics!!!

If you'd like to see other pics of my house click HERE.

Here is a picture of what it looked like when we moved in.

Then I spiced it up with a little wall color and some blue and brown accents.

I got the bedding from Bed Bath and Beyond.

We even had Lily's bed in there for a while too, but that's a whole different story which I'm sure I'll tell you about one of these days.

So after a few years of that I was ready for a change. Here are the pictures of what it currently looks like. I decided on green and black for the colors and I'm really lovin it.

We got the furniture from Eway Furniture

I got the black blanket and pillow cases from Target.

Then dressed up the shades a little with some ribbon  and a hanging ornament.

I took off the closet doors and added these drapes instead. I just wanted to add a little more color to the room.

And this is where the magic happens.
Meaning, where I blog, watch Grays Anatomy, Glee and Modern Family.

What were you thinking?
