Thinking... Maternity AGAIN

The question I'm asking myself lately is...
When am I READY to get pregnant again???? hmmmm, it's a question only I can answer.
I do know I want more kids, but the thought of getting pregnant again, isn't sounding too appealing to me.

When I first started thinking about having kids, I had it all planned out. I was going to have 5 kids, get pregnant every 6 months after giving birth, and I'd get pregnant on the first try of course, what does ovulating have anything to do with it?  I'd have them all natural, no drugs.  I was going to have a girl, then a boy, then girl, boy, girl. They'd all be close together in age, I'd get the pregnancies over with fast, be a young mom, my babies would all sleep through the night in their own beds, I'd nurse them all for a year, they'd only eat organic food and NO sugar, potty training would be a sinch, I'd homeschool them all, and we'd just be one big ol' happy family.
If only things could be so perfect.
It took me 5 months to get pregnant with Lily, I lasted about 30 minutes of contractions before calmly requesting the epidural, or ANY sort of drug they had to offer. I was only able to nurse her for seven months. She never slept through the night OR in her own bed until she was 3. When she turned 6 months there was NO WAY IN H*** I was going to get pregnant again. She turned one, still not ready, turned 2, potty training was a disaster, even MORE not ready, turned 2 1/2, and FINALLY feeling somewhat  ready for the next baby. Took 7 months to get pregnant with Oliver, which I was totally OKAY with, since I was scared out of my mind, wondering how on earth I was going to handle having TWO kids. WHAT? That's insane, TWO kids? Delivery went fine, except the epidural stopped working just in time for me to start pushing out an almost 10 pound baby.
So here I am now, with two kids, somehow managing day by day. Oliver's sleeping through the night and in his crib. So do I feel ready????

Um, not at the moment, but my plan is to GET ready by the end of summer.
So, there it is everyone!
Not sure how long it will take to get pregnant this time around, so that's why we decided to start trying a little sooner than last time.
So, since I'm going to be back in maternity clothes possibly this fall or winter, I thought I'd start looking into some cute clothes to mentally prepare myself for the 9 months of absolute BLISS :) :)

So are you still toying with the idea of 5 kids or are you just going to take it one at a time from here on out? We said 3, but I thinking we're stuck at 2. Both are still in my bed so unless we get a bigger bed (I don't think California King is big enough), we need to move one or both out. :) Love your blog!

Oh, girl. I could've written this post myself. I am going through the same thing and don't think I'm ready for no sleep again quite yet. But who is ever really ready for no sleep!?!

Cute maternity clothes! I wish I had those when I was pregnant!

Are you serious??!! ;) Rich and I were talking about trying in the fall but the past month or so I have thought- maybe we should just start trying. Not sure though. I am so back and forth. I got so thin after having Addison because I worked out 6 days a week and since having crew I haven't done much-lol and I have slacked big time since thinking to myself we would have another shortly after. So I too have been thinking why not just have another. How fun to have babies around the same time :)

Why am I so excited for you like I'm about to be a mom, LOL. Wishing the best for you as you begin that journey. And oh my gosh, those dresses are CAYUTE. I love the tuquoise long dress. Those prices are great. 30% off is an amazing discount, but I have no baby filled tummy to put in those dresses right now :( When I get home I'm going to bookmark Moody Mamas for future reference.

I'm contemplating having another baby myself. I like the idea of having another one. But when I start thinking "okay, then I guess it's time to start preparing" I don't feel so sure. Sometimes I feel like I'm not able to give the kids I already have the kind of time and attention I'd like to. What happens when I have another one? But...babies are so much fun. Decisions, decisions!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I've added you to my Reader. Hope we'll become great bloggy friends!

I found you via Kristin @'Bringing Pretty Back'. :)

Those maternity dresses are so pretty!

I loved hearing you personal story and 'plan' in terms of having children. Before I got married I always thought I'd marry and have children much earlier. When I met my husband we got engaged 3 months later and then married 4 months later. All a bit of whirlwind so children was something we wanted to wait on so we could enjoy OUR time together.

We are finally planning to start trying this summer for the first time and I can't wait to experience everything mommyhood has to offer. I just need to remember that while it's smart to have plan, life doesn't always go according to it. ;)

I am now following you.

well, I have 3 girls ages 5 & under. Life is certainly not a picnic each day but its definitely ok....no major melt downs. [from me, that is]

I got pregnant literally the day we said "ok" lets try again. not sure I was prepared for that but what can you do.

I do say having them closer together and while you are younger is easier and more enjoyable too!

Those maternity tanks are ADORABLE! Too bad I am done reproducing :(
