New Project!

Okay girls, I've got a new project brewin and I'm really excited to get to share it with you. Over the past few months I've been on a search for the COMPLETE BALANCED SCHEDULE. What I mean is, I've been trying to find a blog or website that offers some kind of a schedule that includes everything I need to do to stay balanced, hah, I know crazy right?  If there was a blueprint on this I think I'd be the first to snatch it up :)  I understand that each person is so different and making a universal schedule may not be realistic, but I am going to try anyway. I know it's important to allow ourselves to be spontaneous too and not always feel like you have to stick to a schedule, so don't take this so literal.  My goal is to create a guide to help me, and other OCD moms out there :),  fulfill all important aspects of life as a mom.  Like I've said before, finding balance is a never ending process. There will always be times when you fall off the wagon, and thats okay, it's all part of the plan.  I figured I can make a weekly schedule to share and you can modify it to fit your life.  I plan to put together 52 PRINTABLE weekly schedules, which will include a variety of different things like, activity ideas to do with your kids (fitting ages 2-8), as well as meal plans (with grocery list), exercise routine, tackling house projects, ect.  I'm sorry if you think I'm crazy and obsessed with schedules,  truth is...  I am, but I like it that way. My brain just works much better on written out schedules and lists, you all should know this by now. I find great motivation in having my week planned out,  gets me all excited about each day.
Am I the only one that feels like this?
I've got the meal plan and activities just about ready. So stay tuned, I plan to post it for you tomorrow.

Meeting Fellow Bloggers

Last week I had the opportunity to meet all these lovely ladies. I cannot even begin to describe how much fun I had. When I first got there I had no idea who I was supposed to be looking for, wandered around Cafe Rio feeling like the biggest dork, thinking to myself, how in the HECK am I supposed to know where they are? I don't even know WHO I'm looking for!  I've never met any of these ladies in person and most of them I didn't even know about until that night. Boy am I glad I know about them now. I think meeting a blogger in person makes you feel an even greater desire to read about them on their blog. Something so incredible about each and every one of these women.
We got our food, and sat there for hours laughing our heads off. It was amazing the connection between all of us. It was as though we'd known each other for years, all talking so openly and LOUDLY might I add. We talked about everything under the sun.

Three In One

I'm combining 3 posts in one today. I have a lot to share but don't want to "bug" my email subscribers by filling up their inbox with my mindless blog posts. So here we go.

Two Can Play This Game
I have to thank Sean for inspiring this post. Today I go to write something down in my handy dandy notebook. You all know that I'm a Professional List Maker and I don't leave home without my precious "to do" list.

I open it up and THIS IS WHAT I FOUND!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I absolutely HATE bugs and this huge beetle gives me the creeps just looking at it. This is a REAL bug folks, dead, but real!

The second I saw it I KNEW that this was Sean's doing.  He's highly aware of my phobia and loves more than anything to see me freak out over these nasty creatures.  He's been known to throw grass hoppers at me, put beetles in my hand, and let red ants crawl on me without my knowledge.  My first thought when I saw this was,  TWO CAN PLAY THIS GAME.
Then I searched the house for places I could hide our little friend.

Should I put it in his vitamins?

On his favorite magazine?

On his pillow?

In his shoe?

On the remote?

Or in his deodorant?

Maybe next time he'll think twice before messing with me.

Some New Finds
Here are a few pictures of my latest purchases and where I got them.
Don't you just love this necklace? It's now my new favorite! I got it from the Village Quilt Shop for $25

I got this scrunch shirt from Thistles Home Decor for $25. And this mustard striped vest for $25

Thistles is located on 217 East 12300 South suite J1.

The Escobars Featured in Prosper Magazine!
Now this is pretty exciting! My mother and father in law were featured in the the business magazine, Prosper, now available at any local Barns & Noble.  Sean and I even got a little part in there. We were interviewed by the magazine too, and they threw in a couple quotes from us and a picture. I feel like I'm famous now :)

Garden Fresh

About 6 months ago Sean and I watched the movie Food Inc. If you have not yet seen it then I HIGHLY recommend you taking the time to watch it.  I seriously could not believe some of the things I learned about the food we're all eating. This movie will make you think twice about what you're putting into your mouth. After watching it we were inspired to start our own garden.

This year is my very first gardening attempt. I've never been one to grow my own produce, let alone keep a  simple house plant alive. So I wasn't too optimistic about being able to grow something I could actually eat.

I was pleasantly surprised when I started seeing little green spuds popping up, then turning into this!

The book Square Foot Gardening has been my little guide and has converted me to true gardening.  I would even dare say I've developed a "green thumb" :)
