MARRIAGE IS ALL ABOUT COMPROMISE

You all may be surprised to know that my husband LOVES animals. So much so, that he hopes to fill every bit of empty wall space in our house with these lovely animals.  I on the other hand, need a bit of persuasion before giving in to this new idea of interior decorating. So, we've learned to compromise.

It all started with THIS...

For this...

Then he got this...

And said I could have this...

Trip to Hawaii (it's in the works).

We both were happy with the outcome, and learned a new found tactic to get what we want. Soon after that, Sean got an itch for another one, and I really wanted a new couch. So we welcomed this fine fellow into our home.

We traded in our red couch, which looked great in the room but not the most comfortable for watching movies.

For this one! I'm so excited about it because it is probably THE most comfortable couch EVER!!! It came with 4 built in recliners, and the best part about it was the PRICE!!!

We got it for only $1275!!!  Even during the Labor day sale at the local Ashley stores, the cost was $1650.
I have some exciting news! Through recent networking with the owner of the Ashley Furniture Homestore in Logan, UT.  YOU too can get unbelievable savings on your furniture purchases from the Ashley Homestore in Logan when you PICK UP your orders yourself!   We also got a swivel chair which was $445 on sale locally.  We got the swivel for $299.  So we saved $521 off the Labor Day Sale Price!

For the next 60 days you can visit @FurnitureWarehouse.com and buy using our special discount code and you will get a special unadvertised discount of up to 48% off!
Here is the coupon code: escobargroup
Just enter the code in the coupon code field when checking out to get the discount.
Hurry while this great offer lasts. Click here @FurnitureWarehouse.com and start shopping!!
If you cannot pick up the furniture in Logan UT, then the original pricing does apply.  That pricing is competitive with other online furniture dealers and does include shipping.  Please still put in the coupon code so that our new friend Bob (owner) can see that we referred you.
I'm such a fan of Ashley Furniture. We now own quite a bit of their furniture. We have their dining room set.

Her'e a better picture of it directly from the site, so I know they are still selling this particular one.

And we also have their bar stools.

Okay so anyway, back to my lesson on marriage. Just give your husband what he wants and you can get what YOU want. Sounds easy enough right?

Oh, and don't forget to enter my giveaway! You could win all this!!!! I'll be choosing the winner on Thursday!!!

Wow, I think you are a better woman than I am. Adam would make out house look like the walls at Cabelas if he could.

hahahah now that's what I'm talking about! Sean served his mission in Virginia and would often come over to our house for dinner....my parents have tons of animals on their walls too.
Nice furniture!
PS: I have that same rug from Target! Isn't it so cute!?

Thanks Crystal, now I'm going to have animal rights activists all over me. Most of whom wear leather.
People don't realize I have a different take on these mounts. I don't visualize them as a way to show off a trophy. I didn't even kill any of those animal. I think it is just incredible art. I think if they died in the wilderness, they bodies would go to dust. To me this kind of immortalizes them, figuratively speaking.

Too funny! I think I've worked out a few compromises like this is my days as a wife too
:-) Sean's explanation makes me giggle a bit!

You guys are so funny!

I love Sean's explanation and just the fact that he comes on here and let's his side be know. Kudos!

We have a similar thing - my husband travels every week for work, so I reward myself with a little prize every week for surviving. Also, whenever Pearl Jam goes on tour, he travels to catch about a 1/2 dozen shows, so I again reward myself with a little something special. It just works for some couples, us being one of them!

That awesome! I need to figure out what my husband really wants so I can get a new car!!! But man, he hardly ever wants anything!!!

Great plan for compromise Crystal. Us guys are happy even if the hangings and furniture are banished to the basement or garage--as long as we have some place to hang out.

So...let me just throw this out there. If I let Sean put some animals up in my house, could I get a trip to Hawaii?? He can come over whenever he wants to look at them. I'll even send him daily pictures of the animals.

Too funny. Love it. I am not sure about the co bull but love the cougar and the elk. But I grew up with all that around my home. I actually just got home lastnight from my once in a lifetime bull elk hunt on the Fishlake. There were not very many big bulls but I did kill a decent 6 point and it will be hanging on our wall soon too :)

That's a fabulous compromise! DH wanted to paint his home office black. I said no way. So he said if he couldn't do that, he wanted a media room. We slept in the guest bedroom for over a year because he turned our master bedroom into a media room. :)

Although I like the couch and car? I still would freak if I had to have those on my wall! What do you get if you hang them in a closet?

Wow. You are gracious, Crystal! I am not sure there is much that would persuade me to put those animals on my wall! But, I bet you guys had a fun time working out the terms of agreement ;) Very cool!

Thanks for catching up with me through blogging! I always have fun visiting here! Looks like you guys had a great time in San Diego at the conference. You should have taken a quick mini trip up past LA to visit! ;)
